N*E*R*D* FEAT. SANTIGOLD – “SOLDIER”

After performing “Soldier” months ago on TV, P and company finally hit us with the CDQ today. No Wayne verse, but you gotta give the guys some credit for stretching the boundaries. This one is like Trenchtown meets the mosh pit. Not to mention the energy. Folks will go stupid to this here. Having just added Rhea, a new female member to the band, Pharrell says of their upcoming album, “we can go in so many more directions, because we have the vocal support,” adding, “this time we’re taking no prisoners”.

NABIL SHOOTS SANTI

Santigold Photography Nabil Elderkin 7

Just some icy ones of Santi. I think she’s just about at the forefront of things. Her fit is devastating. As I age in the game, I’m beginning to realize a very crucial distinction. There’s clothing and then there’s fashion. A lot of people say they’re into fashion, when they’re really just into clothes. I won’t front. I’m just as guilty. But this fashion game is only that for so many. For some, it’s their pursuit, their obsession. And I respect that. I’ve got my own. But here’s to fashion. Nabil Elderkin on the hook.

JAY-Z’s ANSWER THE CALL (LIVE FROM MADISON SQUARE GARDEN)

If you consider yourself a Jay fan, I recommend seeing him live. His performances are some seriously iconic shit. For the folks who were lucky enough to catch Friday night’s show at the Garden, I’m legitimately jealous. The show was a sellout within minutes. Thanks to Fuse TV though, we got the footage to capture yet another historic moment in Hovi history. Watch this all the way through and try to tell me one of your favorite artists didn’t show up. Justin, Pharrell, Mary J., John Mayer, Santi, Kanye, Rihanna, Beyonce, Diddy, Cudi…fuck a VMA’s. In any case, you know if we got it, it’s yours. Here’s the show in its entirety.

NABIL ELDERKIN FOR JEREMY SCOTT

When it comes to photography, Nabil Elderkin is that dude. A native of Australia, Nabil would spend his days posting up at the beach while photographing his surfer friends. His hobby quickly turned into a passion, which turned into a career, as Nabil has emerged as one of the premiere photographers in the music industry. Like many great photographers Nabil has almost an innate ability to capture individuals in their essence, while portraying them in a natural and authentic light. Recently, Nabil has ventured into the world of motion pictures. Featured here is collaboration between the venerable Jeremy Scott and Nabil featuring some select pieces from Adidas. M.I.A and Santi on the track. More from Nabil in the future. Sip on this for now.

SANTIGOLD – “YOUR VOICE”

Might go best with the beach and a beverage. Otherwise, this song might be perfect as one of the closing slaps to a cracking day party. Either way, Santi comes with another settled track. Gotti of Smoking Section related an interesting opinion in regards to America’s acceptance of Santigold, in his commentary he states, “I’m of the firm opinion that Santigold was merely a victim of timing as Americans ability to only focus on one foreign-sounding singer @ a time, is a slot effectively filled by M.I.A.” Perhaps, but they will know soon. Real soon.

SANTIGOLD – “L.E.S. ARTISTES”

Everything about this video is tight. L.E.S Artistes, which contrary to popular belief stands for Lower East Side Artists, is an ode to artists who create for a purpose rather than to be seen in the scene. In an interview with PopJustice, Santigold states, “The song is playing on the fact that everyone tries to make things fancy when it’s really just pretentious.” This vid is for all but especially for Meghan, Tina and Daisy. Tina and Meg will feel this, and Daisy likes horses.
