IT’S JUST A LOVE THING…

Love is a crazy thing. It’ll grip you and make you do the most irrational shit ever. Can’t even describe. But it’s a cool thing that means something different to everyone. We base it a lot off of what we see. On some You’ve Got Mail, Notebook type shit. We see that, and we’re like this is how love should be enacted. But who knows what it really means. It’s just a word. But I’m gonna start writing about love more because it’s real and I feel it. I’ma leave this up for the day.

STEPHEN MARLEY – “FED UP”

“She said how could you treat me this way
What we had was more than words could say
Two times the echoes of my mind
That dont know where else this love I’ll find…”

JON STEWART OUTS JIM CRAMER

I was a bit naive to the purpose and scope of The Daily Show. John Stewart never really peaked my interest. Until now. His desire to seek the truth is incredibly admirable, while also able to entertain an audience through quick wit and clever rhetoric. In the process he sons Jim Cramer making this an entertaining and authentic dialogue between two tv personalities.

4:48AM

I had another vision tonight. All my friends were in it. We were dancing. We were celebrating the times, because we recognized how quickly fleeting those moments can be. So we seized them. 12:36AM. We were comfortable. Settled as some would say. Yet the room was a blaze, because in the back of our minds, we knew that anything could happen. The familiarity in the air transcended dress codes and guestlists. And we were comfortable. Throughout the night we heard our favorite songs, defining a moment for three minutes and a half. The soundtrack to our lives. We danced and sang and kissed and hugged because that’s what we’re supposed to do. That’s just how we did it. We defined the evironment to disallow it from defining us. And we won. When we looked back we knew that the ultimate goal was to make memories, because at the end of the day, that’s all that’s left.

NY KIDS ‘GETTIN LITE’

New York kids hittin it. Hit the hand clap. Hop in the circle. Do your thing. Make sure its fly. Call it Gettin Lite. Brown Sweater is the truth. The WTF moment is at 0:40sec but the OMG moment is at 4:00min.

BABY TOSSING TRADITIO: SOLAPUR, INDIA

Triz laced us with this one. This is an interesting one. What we have here may seem so unusual to some but it is also regular to many. This is amazing.

BOB MARLEY: 60 VISIONS

“We don’t think upon a low level. We think high. That means we can live and we can see things. We can stay from above, and see things low. If you stay from below and look above, you have want. If you stay from above and look ‘pon them below, then you can’t want. Because you have to bend down too low to pick up something…”

MARK JENKINS: STREET INSTALLATIONS

Mark Jenkins creative mind exists outside the realm of most of our rational social consciousness. The works he create force us to not only respond to the work, but to question it by peaking our curiosity. According to fellow artist, Erik Benjamin, “art is at it’s pinnacle when it forces us to act,” in doing so an artist has often times succeeded by stepping outside the normative structures of society to create something lasting, memorable and moving.

‘SWAGGA LIKE US’ GRAMMY PERFORMANCE

M.I.A goes hard for that, going hard at the Grammys with a baby on board. You know Kanye is fresh when he can have a fucked up haircut and nobody says anything. Jay is like the Marlon Brando of the crew. This is tight but kiiiiiiinnnnddddaa weak. I like the B/W though. Wayne still probably goes the hardest. They should’ve done more choreographed moves to really just kill it, then they could combine all of their individual swagger to have the most swagged out Grammy performance. Instead the swag of the performance plateaus at like a 9.1 on the swagger scale. T.I should’ve gone third Wayne should’ve wrapped it up. I’m inspired.

TERRY RICHARDSON SHOOTS BRAZIL

Featured below is the work of Terry Richardson as he captured the energy of Brazilian life. His shots of regular civilians serves to relate the regularities of life that we all encounter. Terry just caught people having a good time, enjoying themselves. Photography is so wet because it captures a particular moment, an essence and a feeling. Terry is a master at the craft. His photos have the ability to capture the true energy of a person. You can look at a photo and understand the context of the photo. These shots do the same. Makes me want to make that trip out to Brazil, bring a few racks, cop some trees, find a bad one and post up with the bruhs. Photographers make the world go round.

$450 BILLION SPENT ON CHRISTMAS ANNUALLY

Interesting video from Advent Conspiracy detailing American’s spending habits during Christmas. The video resonates with me, because I frequently come with the weak gifts. But really, how often are we compelled to buy a weak to mediocre gift for someone instead of relating to them how great we think they are? Have we become conditioned consumers?

PHOTOGRAPHY OF THE WORLD

An indigenous woman holds her child while trying to resist the advance of Amazonas state policemen who were expelling the woman and some 200 other members of the Landless Movement from a privately-owned tract of land on the outskirts of Manaus, in the heart of the Brazilian Amazon March 11, 2008. The landless peasants tried in vain to resist the eviction with bows and arrows against police using tear gas and trained dogs, and were evicted from the land.

BRUCE LEE PLAYING PING PONG

Not quite sure about this one. Possibly one of the most amazing athletic feats or one of the most amazing uses of a camera. The awe and wonder that arises from viewing this video may be the intended effect. And in that regard the producers succeed. Enough with the analysis this shit goes…
