Sex is just one of those things that’s on everyone’s mind, but isn’t talked about enough. It’s always great when boys and girls can talk about sex together, but it gets complicated so quickly that it becomes a slippery slope. Luckily the Bowties is here, so we can talk and discuss with less pressure. It’s just crazy. Because you know everyone loves to fuck. There’s just a lot of baggage that comes with, that won’t fit in the overhead bin. I mean come on, we come out the womb naked, and from then on we try to find the best way to cover our shit up. I dunno, I just think it’d be dope if we all ran around naked one day. But that’s just me. Featured here are some clever ads from Durex. With the goal to show and not tell, Durex created this collection of ads aimed to show the inner feelings one may have during sex. Have fun. Use protection.
I often times feel conflicted about throwing up the Kanye. I always ask myself, is throwing up the Kanye a reflex? Or is it simply the belief that each time I press the play button on a Kanye video I know I’m in for something. To answer my own question, it’s the latter. I usually skip this song when I slap 808′s and I probably still will, but I’m always pleased when Nabil and Ye get together. It’s just the fact that Kanye’s videos are so different, that it makes these other videos irrelevant, and I appreciate that. Very much.
Nicki’s one of those artists I go back and forth with. One day she’ll impress me, the next day I’ll wonder. But recently she’s been impressing. Before I heard her rap I heard her speak, and she got my attention. From there Roy introduced me to the “Always Love You”, and I found myself putting on for her. And then Harriet the Spy started fucking with her and it was over. But then I wonder, is she winning by default? I mean, what other female rappers are there? I think I’d win a game of 1 on 1 if I wasn’t playing against anyone. Nonetheless, Nicki’s doing it. This is my favorite slap thus far, so Nicki gets that Bowties love.

I’ll keep it 100 with you. Climate change is not my area of expertise. For those of you for whom it is, please let me know what’s really good, and what I can do to help. From everything I’ve been told, and what little research I’ve done, I can at least say that I understand how big of a challenge we’re really facing in the coming decades. Analysis from the top experts in the field suggests that the way we’ve been living and consuming just isn’t gonna fly from here on out. The real challenge then, is formulating concrete solutions. Enter TED, whose annual conference hosts talks from the best and the brightest in almost any field you can imagine. Being that Bill Gates has been responsible for some of the most crucial advances in both technology and philanthropy in the last half century, I’d say his thoughts on the subject are worth listening to. Take it away Bill.
As I mentioned a couple of days ago, Mishka won me over with their latest lookbook. Even better, they’re throwing a party tomorrow night to celebrate the opening of their new location in lala. Hopefully they’ll be some perk on deck and some cool folks. After the opening reception that starts at seven, folks are headed to the Echoplex to really get it in. Be sure to RSVP so you don’t get flopped at the door.
When Danny told me he met Dee and Ricky he didn’t say a word. It was merely a look. It was that, “Drop everything you’re doing and follow me now,” look. That, “This is the moment we’ve been waiting for,” look. To say the brothers are cool would be a bit of an understatement. When you’re getting love from Kanye and Marc Jacobs your hats may start fitting weird. Nonetheless, Dee & Ricky were cool as fuck, and our conversation was greater confirmation that the renaissance is here.
If this is your introduction to Dee & Ricky, I suggest peeping this and hitting their website. The video above is simply a day in the life. From the Staten Island trap to the tailor, to downtown art parties, Dee & Ricky are making crazy moves, and it’s only, getting, worse.
It’s crazy. Last week Danny and I were talking about Mishka. He told me he fucked with them. I told him I was cool off them. That eyeball wasn’t really doin it for me. Nonetheless, here I am talking about Mishka. I think the lesson to be learned from this series of events is quite simple. Believe in Daniel Edmund.
So I was sitting in the back of a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The fact that this is one of my favorite cars –why, I have no real idea– has nothing to do with anything. What also has nothing to do with anything is that the owner of the car, my girlfriend, likes the older, squared models better. I detest them; these differences are further away from anything relevant than I thought, but they are funny because she drives a car I love but likes the older models WAY better, go figure. Honestly, the shit I am about to recap is so fucking funny that I have to delay. If you would have seen the look on this Shih-Tzu’s smug little face you would have felt as the title presumes I did. Yes, presumes. I mean I felt, and still do feel, as though my soul was taken but I won’t know ’til Judgment Day. So…we planned to have sex in the backseat of the Jeep to make an episode.
Yesterday, I had the privilege to attend the First Annual Los Angeles Street Food Festival. And to be honest, I had mixed reviews. While the food was on point, the logistics of the event were flopping, hard. When Tiago and I arrived we were greeted by a two hour line of folks looking to grub. Personally allergic to lines, I decided to mouthpiece it, sliding through the back with Tiago soon after we arrived. With food trucks lined up bumper to bumper, the festival easily offered something for everyone. From Fishlips Sushi, to duck tacos from the Flying Pig, to chicken, waffles and biscuits from the Buttermilk Truck, it is safe to say Twill and Case would’ve been in heaven. Overall it was great to be introduced to the variety of eateries available in Los Angeles, as I look forward to getting better acquainted with each one individually. Good food to come.
On paper, pretty much everything about this movie sounds dope. When You’re Strange, directed by Tom DiCillo is made up of archival footage, documenting the legendary band from their rise to stardom up until Jim Morrison’s death in 1971. With narration by Johnny Depp, the film will give its audience a chance to see live performances and studio footage not seen anywhere else. When You’re Strange is an official selection for Sundance, as well as the LA film festival, and will be making its debut this June. For now, peep the trailer above.
I can only begin to speak on the importance of culture in one post. In short, I feel like culture is in many ways what ties us together as humans. Allowing us to relate the human experience to each other through language, dialect, rituals, beliefs and traditions. Last week, Boa Sr. passed away, as the last member of the Ancient Bo tribe the language and civilization have now become extinct. I’m not sure what this means for our global society, or how the extinction of this group fits into the larger context of human civilization. Undoubtedly, the departure of this tribe is a reminder of how truly precious culture is.
