Pretty much any time you can combine art and humor, you’re winning. The overall tone of artist Jayson Musson‘s work is playful and unassuming, and the result is work that’s as clever as it is simple. His largest collection of work, entitled Miscellaneous Things That Resemble Paintings, consists largely of single sentence observations, satire and sex jokes. Another, the Flaming Lips-referencing Barack Obama Battles the Pink Robots pokes fun at the deification of Obama, depicting him saving kittens, rescuing Jesus Christ and battling giant terrorists. All in all, just quality work all around. Check out Jayson’s full catalog of work here.
Today is a good day for America. To put it simply, it’s nice to have someone in office putting on for the people who need it the most. There is no doubt in my mind that without Barack championing the effort behind this bill, that nothing like this could have been accomplished for years to come. For obvious reasons, the house passing the healthcare bill, despite no support from a single Republican, is a landmark victory, and a major step in the right direction. As always, it’s good to keep things in perspective though. The most recent editorial from The New York Times frames the bill as a a hugely important move towards reforming the worst aspects of our healthcare system, but one that needs to be looked at as a first step, and not a final solution. Good to see Barack taking a stand against the banks. In his weekly address, the president slammed major banks and financial institutions for irresponsibility and selfishness in the wake of the economic collapse they helped to cause. However, the address was also a proposal for a fee imposed on banking practices, with the aim of recovering the money taxpayers paid during the bailout. Unsurprisingly, Republicans and lawmakers are lining up pretty unanimously against the idea. Given the economy hasn’t picked up much since the bailout, and Wall Street cats are still picking up 8-figure bonuses, I’d say it couldn’t hurt. Guess we’ll wait and see if they can get this through.
It’s rare that we get an opportunity to get a glimpse into the lives of the famous. Their privacy so sacred, it’s not often that we receive a view of an individual completely in their element. Fortunately, freelance photojournalist, Pete Souza has provided us with a glimpse into the life of President Obama. Far removed from any podiums or microphones, Souza has captured a unique view of the President, shooting him while boarded Air Force One. Accompanied, by his advisors, secretaries, security and wifey, Souza has presented a compelling view into the inner world of Barack Obama.
While this track won’t see a release on Attention: Deficit, I think it’s notable for a lot of different reasons. For one, John and Wale are two of the dopest cats doing it right now. As far as this music thing goes, they’re the kind of artists who just understand it; quality music that uplifts and entertains. Wale shines here, delving about as deep as we’ve heard him get yet, with an open letter to two of the most influential figures of our era: Barack and Pac. Call me crazy, but out of the GQ group, I think Wale might just be the biggest threat. Not to sell Drizzy or the Moon Man short though. It’s pretty much neck and neck. Attention: Deficit drops November 10th.

Barack’s acceptance speech for the Nobel Prize. His poise is what impresses me the most. So many haters. So many salt throwers. And he still holds it down, leads our country and puts on for the people. An icon and an inspiration.
This shit is jokes for so many reasons. Eddie doin it in the red leather suit talkin about the first black president 25 years ago. I wonder if Barack’s seen this.
Watching this video is like eating 1 Cheez-It. You’ll think you’re straight, but you gotta go back for more. It’s 3.32am already peeped like 4 times. Jalen Rose top right though?
It’s like you can only say a lot, or a little about Barack. I’ll say a little. THIS IS OUR PRESIDENT. Pay close attention to the 1:05 mark of the video. Considering the context of the statement makes this an instant quotable.
Barack Obama speaks on the details of his Economic Recovery Plan. The plan is looking to create 3 to 4 million new jobs, with 90% in the private sector and 10% in the public sector. Barack goes the hardest.
