Horchata is a tasty drink, and Vampire Weekend is a pretty cool band, so I figured this one would be settled. The ivy league sensation took the indie world by storm last year with a brand of Afro-pop influenced rock that garnered them enough respect from critics to balance out a healthy dosage of haters. All Paul Simon comparisons aside, the love is well deserved, and the album was one of the year’s best. Contra is due out in January, with “Horchata” taking the first single spot.
