
Jesse and me aren’t sure about the name. This one is certified though. As far as as Prince references go, this one is as impressive as it is blatant. Like they slapped “When You Were Mine” on repeat for a few days before hitting the studio. Tigercity’s lead singer Bill Gillim describes their humble beginnings, explaining “we were playing a game of hipster pick-up basketball with about fifteen other people,” describing the sport as “some throwback Converse sneakers, some long hair, and some guys who aren’t very good at basketball.” Catch this on the Pretend to Love EP, available on iTunes now.
