Contrary to the impression Clear Channel might give you, the funk is still alive and well. A prime example is the East Bay’s own Nino Moschella, whose third project, Boom Shadow dropped this Summer on Ubiquity, home to Sa-Ra Creative Partners, as well as a host of other artists and some of the dopest reissues in recent memory. A talented singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Nino makes the kind of music most of us can only imagine putting together. “Stella”, a tribute to his daughter, is a case in point.
