JOHN LEGEND – “ROLLING IN THE DEEP” (ADELE COVER)

John LegendWatching Adele do the kind of numbers she’s done lately has been refreshing. Having reclaimed the number one spot on the charts this week, it looks like 21 is closing in on platinum in the states, and it’s well deserved. As cynical as I tend to get about the pop music that tends to reach the masses these days, it’s good to see a reminder that people actually like cool shit, assuming it’s presented to them in an accessible way. “Rolling in the Deep”, like most of the songs on the album, are a showcase for that incredible voice, which is why John Legend borrowing it, and going acapella seems only appropriate. There aren’t a whole lot of singers out there that could make this one sound so convincing without accompaniment.
