PAINTINGS BY PACO POMET

Paco Pomet Artwork

This would’ve been worth a post off the first pic alone. Luckily, Granada’s Paco Pomet has an archive on deck. Paco’s paintings are typically modeled on historical photography, but in many of them, the seriousness of the picture is subverted by throwing in out of pocket or unusual imagery. Not only is Pomet an extremely talented painter, but he’s also a pretty talented humorist. Props to LOUDreams on putting on for Paco. More from him soon.

these are great. there’s always that one thing that’s off in the photo and that one thing is so essential. like the way he enlarged the old woman’s feet. between that, the color choice, and angle it tells you the weight of life she carries. like all her memories (pleasant and painful) are stacked on top of her shoulders. i agree with maximus, too. the way he uses depth, like in photography, is sick.
